ROSE'S LIFE

By Lauren Quither from Scotland, UK

Hi, I'm Rose.
I am a Special Valentine's Furby and I am going to tell you about my Life.

My name is Rose. I was bought once when all of the other Furbys were selling. I was bought by a Furby collector who just had to have me. Now she had loads and loads of other Furbys, and when she took me home she took great care of me, feeding me when I asked, playing with me, and she also introduced me to all of her other Furbys. When I was put in with the other Furbys, I had to share a room with 3 of them, 2 boys called Skunk and Racoon and 1 girl called Angelica. When I was introduced, I tried making friends with Angelica, but she didn't really like me. "You aren't special, you're just an opposite of Flamingo, and you have a silly Gold Heart around your neck. You aren't as nice as me. In fact you are too bright and are really UGLY!" Angelica first said to me. "Angelica's right, no-one else is as bright as you" Skunk added. "You're just a opposite copy-cat!" Racoon smirked. That was so hurtful that I ran off to the next house, but they just said similar things to me. In the end I ran and hid under the bed, and started crying silently into the night. This carried on for weeks on end, and I soon had no friends.

Eventually, my owner came and looked under the bed. "Come on," she said. "I'm too big for you now, so you and all the other Furbys are going to my Jumble sale." I got taken and put on a table outside. Lots of people came gathering round to look at the marvelous selection, and soon some Furbys got taken away with other children. Angelica went next and as the girl picked her up to pay for her, Angelica whispered something into the girl's ear. At 4:00, all of the Furbys were sold to other people and I was the only one left. "Oh well, looks like nobody wanted you, which means that I have to throw you in the bin." I got taken outside and suddenly fell into darkness.

I lay there for days and nights, when suddenly, I got woken up by a jolt. I peeked outside, and there was some sort of machine lifting up the bin. Just then, a man came and opened the lid, and although I tried to look hidden, I was just a second too late, for the man saw me and lifted me up. "Hmm, now why would someone throw you out?" he asked me sympathetically. "Don't worry, I know a good place that will sort you out and even find a new home for you." He put me in the front seat of the machine and in a few minutes he came back and sat in the other seat. I stayed they're and watched all of the happy Furbys playing with they're new owners.

A small tear trickled down my cheek watching them. Just then the bin man came back and saw me crying. "Hey, hey, don't cry, we'll find you a new home, where you'll be very happy." He drove to a sort of station and parked the machine, that I found out was a truck, in it. He then lifted me out and took me to his home. After he was changed from his uniform, he took me over to his computer and typed in 'Adopt A Furby.' He went into the Furby Reception and sorted everything out that had to be done. He then put me in a box and taped me up.

I am really sorry about this, but when I was put into the box I fell into a deep sleep, and I do not know what happened during my trip.

When I woke up, there was a kind-looking lady smiling at me, and she then showed me a strange object. "Now this is a camera. You can use it to take pictures. I am going to take one of you, and put it on this website, where some lucky child will get to buy you, and you will go and live with them." I hoped that my new owner would not be like my last one, but I couldn't help feeling a bit excited. The kind lady then pointed the 'camera' at me. "Smile please!" she said, and then with a small 'click' a bright light shone and then stopped. "Come and have a look" she said. In the camera was a picture of me! I felt so proud because nothing like that had ever happened to me before.

She then plugged it into her computer with a sort of rope and showed me the picture. She then showed it to me and I smiled at the portrait. "Now, tell me a little bit about yourself" so I told her about my life, and she asked me another question. "Now, have you ever found your special boy Furby?" she asked. I blushed, and nodded my head to say no. She filled in my profile and completed it by clicking on a button. I waited days and nights again, when suddenly, the kind lady burst in saying, "Rose! Someone wants to buy you!" I smiled and allowed myself to be parceled up yet again.

Sorry about this but again I fell into a deep sleep and I do not know what happened. I guess you will never know what it's like being posted as a parcel.

As soon as I got to the new house, I was opened and I looked up at a Friendly face, with eyes shining. I was lifted up and put on a wooden table. The person who adopted me was a girl, and she played with me on the table, introducing herself and her smaller brother, and her Gran. Then she walked over to the Ironing table and...
Brought over a Boy Furby!! He was a special one, like me, although he was a Christmas one, with cute little antlers and a fuzzy Santa hat on. "Hi! Me Dancer! I'm sure you'll like it here, it's really fun and Lauren is really nice to me, so I'm sure she'll be nice to you too!" He said to me. "Thank you" I replied shyly. "You have a beautiful voice, and you're really pretty" He told me. I blushed.

"Thank you. No-one has ever said something like that to me" I said. Then I walked over and kissed him on the cheek. He turned almost as red as his hat, and then we watched Lauren, her Gran and her brother start clearing the table, for they had moved us on top of their computer cabinet. Then the door opened, and her Mum, and another brother came in. Then they wiped the table with a wet cloth and started putting mats down on it. We watched hungrily as her Mum started putting food onto the middle mats. "I'm so glad you came, now I won't be lonely anymore!" Dancer said to me. "Dancer," I asked him. "Yeah," he replied. "I love you." "I love you too Rose" he told me.

I am still Living there, and I can't wait till Valentine's Day, so that I can give Dancer my special gift from Me, To Him.
